• Topaz 1Vibrates to the number 6
  • Astrological sign of Sagittarius – Elemental

It is known as a “stone of true love and success in all endeavours”

It can promote individuality and creativity, while providing for confidence in trusting ones decisions. It acts to replace negativity with love and joyfulness.

The ends and facets of a topaz crystal (as well as faceted topaz) provide both positive and negative currents. This is quite different from quartz. These alternating currents are linked via the ethers to the forces of manifestation through which attraction and desire are promulgated.

The topaz crystal is considered quite precious by the African Bushmen, being used in ceremonies for healing and for connecting with the spirits who have departed from this plane. It is considered to bring health and wealth to the holder.

When topaz is used in conjunction with the amethyst, it both gives and receives energy from the amethyst facilitating the utilization of the laws of attraction and manifestation for the good of all; the amethyst further provides for the transmutation of undeveloped energies into spiritual vibrations to produce a soothing, clearing, and stabilizing effect. This combination of minerals is quite useful for both white magic and healing.

Topaz History

The gemstone has been known for around 2000 years and is one of the so-called apocalyptic stones that are intended to serve in protection against enemies. It is also known as a symbol of beauty and splendour. It cannot be proved conclusively whether the name of Topaz comes from the Sanskrit or the Greek, though the Greek name 'topazos' means 'green gemstone'. The Romans, however, dedicated Topaz to Jupiter.

The colour in which Topaz is most commonly found is yellow. In the 18th century, it was mined in Saxony, Germany for a period of over 60 years, however, most of the crystals were less than 10mm in diameter. In contrast, Topaz crystals as large as 100mm in diameter can be found in Siberia and Brazil

In mysticism, Topaz is attributed with a cooling, styptic and appetising effect. It is said to dispel sadness, anger and nocturnal fears, to warn its wearer of poisons and protect him or her from sudden death. It is reputed to make men handsome and intelligent and sterile women fertile and happy.
